    • Just a reminder of events coming up:

      Quiz Night

The Club will be holding a Quiz Night on Friday 20th July 2018 at the Clubrooms.  Details are contained in the attached pdf.  All members and guests welcome.

Please contact Ray Tuffin on 021 227 8088 or rjtuffin@gmail.com to book a table.  You need to get your teams in early so we can plan for the evening.

      Matchplay Finals:

This had to be rescheduled because of the inclement weather.  Will be held on Sunday 15th July 2018.

Reminder to Golfers:   This Sunday is the finals of the men's Club Matchplay Championships.  The players in finals would enjoy seeing members out watching in big numbers, like the good old days.

    • We are the Champions!!

Well, of Division 2 InterClub anyway.

The Mornington Golf Club Division 2 InterClub team finished top of their division with 106.5 points, some 28.5 points clear of second place Boulcotts Farm Heritage Golf Club team.  Other teams in the Division included Karori, Mahunga, Paraparaumu and Royal Wellington.

    • Over the 10 games played by the team (5 at home and 5 away), the team averaged 10.65 points per game out of a possible 15 points.  They won all their home games and their results away were 2 wins, 2 draws and only 1 loss.  The only loss was in the first round, a narrow 7-8 away at Karori. The team also had the highest total points for the season of any of the teams playing in the Wellington Golf InterClub competition.  Congratulations.

Our Division 6 team managed a creditable 4th place out of 6 teams when after 7 rounds it looked like this team would be demoted.  They won 34 of their 67.5 points in the last three rounds.  Well done.

Unfortunately our Division 10 team finished last of the 6 teams in their Division.  However it must be remembered that the team regularly had players called into the higher Division teams.  They played well for the season.

    • Taoist Tai Chi

Mary Brownlow of our Taoist Tai Chi section thinks golfers could cut three stokes off their handicap if they practice Tai Chi!! By improved balance, posture, joint flexibility, and coordination, Tai Chi will certainly lead to a better game! The turning of the spine will help the swing, no?

Members can call Mary Brownlow on 021872303 for more information.
